Rad Jones, a retired Secret Service agent, will give a PowerPoint presentation on his experiences while protecting six presidents (Kennedy through Reagan) and visiting foreign heads of state. Rad was involved in the security planning for presidential inaugurations, political conventions such as the 1980 Republican Convention in Detroit, Vice President Bush’s visit to the 1982 Super Bowl, and travels of presidents overseas.
About the Presenter: Radford Jones retired as special agent in charge of the Michigan Division, U.S. Secret Service. He later retired from his position as manager of Global Security and Fire Protection at Ford Motor Company. He also held the position of instructor and academic specialist, School of Criminal Justice, Michigan State University for 17 years. In 2005, he was inducted into the MSU Criminal Justice Wall of Fame in recognition of his contributions and distinguished service in the field of criminal justice. In 2009, he was recognized by Security Magazine as one of the 25 most influential persons in security.
